Matthew Singer Audit Partner Financial Services Banking and Capital Markets

New York Years of Experience: 14 Industry Leadership Matt is a member of the New York Banking and Capital Markets practice and has international experiences spending two years working in our London practice.  He has expert knowledge in U.S. GAAP, U.S. regulatory requirements for banking institutions, alternative institutions and SEC and financial reporting experience.  He is also proficient in all commercial banking products (deposits and money market, foreign exchange, corporate and retail lending, leverage lending, equity and debt securities, derivative financial instruments, commodities, securities lending and repurchase agreements, asset-backed securities).  Matt also has experience with alternative investment management companies and hedge funds.  He has over fourteen years of professional experience. He is an expert in accounting for derivative financial instruments and hedging activities. Matt has published articles on fair value measurement and IFRS. Matt is the PwC’s firm relationship partner at Binghamton University.  Matt is responsible for maintaining and developing PwC’s relationship with the students, PwC Scholar’s Program, faculty and administration. Matt is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.  He graduated from Binghamton University with a BS in accounting, class of 1996.  He is married to Cristin Singer (Binghamton Alumni, 1996) and lives in New York City.



Emma-Anne Millardfor Scholars website New York Metro Campus Recruiting Manager

Florham Park, New Jersey Years of Experience: 10 Background Emma is a member of the New York Metro Campus Recruiting team and has worked in both the New York and New Jersey offices.  Emma joined PwC in May 2006, having previously spent six years in college recruitment.  Emma specializes in tax recruiting, and has led the recruiting efforts for specialty tax groups such as International Tax Services, Quantitative Solutions, Transfer Pricing, State and Local Tax, and Private Company Services.  In 2008, Emma transferred from New York to Florham Park where she currently leads the tax recruiting efforts for the New Jersey office.  She has served on several national recruiting committees, including the International Internship Experience and 101: Summer Internship teams.  Emma participated in Project New Orleans in 2007 and 2009, working with students from 85 schools across the country to help rebuild key areas of the city.  Emma served as the NY liaison recruiter for the University of Texas and Texas A&M, and worked with the law schools at Georgetown, NYU, University of Florida, Northwestern, and Boston College to recruit students pursuing an LLM in taxation.  Emma led the 2010 Summer Internship program for the New York market, and is now a member of the national planning team for PwC’s Intern Development Program held each summer in Disney World. Emma is the lead recruiter at Binghamton University, spending time on campus to recruit the school’s top talent through various events, presentations and activities.  Emma is also responsible for maintaining and developing PwC’s relationship with the students, PwC Scholar’s Program, faculty and administration.  Through the PwC Scholars program, Emma has attended five international trips bringing students to PwC offices in Luxembourg, London, Hong Kong, Prague, Sydney, and Frankfurt. Emma graduated in 1998 from Lafayette College with a BA in anthropology and sociology.  Emma went on to get her MS in Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University in 2003.  She currently lives in Edison, NJ.



Laura Sobocienski

Background
Laura is a member of the New York Metro Campus Recruiting team and works in the New York City office. Laura joined PwC in September 2003, as part of the Assurance practice in NY. She joined the campus recruiting team in April 2009. Laura specializes in tax recruiting, and has led the recruiting efforts for specialty tax groups such as Quantitative Solutions, State and Local Tax, Private Company Services, and Global Human Resource Solutions. She has served on several national recruiting committees, including the Leadership Adventure Program and the Internship Experience teams. Laura helped coordinate and execute the NYM Leadership Adventure Program in 2010 and 2011. Laura serves as the NY liaison recruiter for the University of Michigan and will be co-leading the 2012 Summer Internship program for the New York market.
Laura is the lead recruiter at Binghamton University as of January 2012. She will be spending time on campus to recruit the school’s top talent through various events, presentations and activities. Laura is responsible for maintaining and developing PwC’s relationship with the students, PwC Scholar’s Program, faculty and administration. Through the PwC Scholars program, Laura was able to attend the 2012 international trip to Berlin and Frankfurt, bringing students to the PwC Frankfurt office.
Laura graduated in 2003 from Lehigh University with a BS in accounting. She currently lives in Piscataway, NJ.
